Celebrating Paws
From our welcome policy towards canine guests to our resident spa cats, anyone that has spent time at Lake Austin Spa Resort knows that we love animals. We understand, as one of the world's top wellness spas, that animals have a measurable positive impact on our health and well-being - like reducing stress and lowering blood pressure. And as pet owners, we know the immeasurable joy that their companionship and unconditional love bring to our lives.
Our program, Celebrating Paws, features a unique opportunity for you to explore and strengthen the bond you have with your canine companion. Topics and activities during this week include:
- Welcome Yappy Hour
- Canine massage appointments
- Discussion series with renowned animal behavorialist Dr. Patricia McConnell on the power of pet ownership
- Hands-on training in manners and etiquette for canine guests and their people with CAP1 certified trainer Cara Shanno
- Inside look at search and rescue with Susannah Charleson and her K9 Rescue dog, Puzzle

Whether participating in the Celebrating Paws program or visiting at another time, your dog is welcome to come share the experience with you! During your stay, your pooch will enjoy in-room creature comforts including luxurious dog bed, food and water bowls and organic treats. A non-refundable $300 pet fee and acceptance of the resort's pet policy are required.
Lake Austin Spa Resort will donate 100% of pet fees collected during Celebrating Paws to Animal Trustees of Austin, a local nonprofit organization providing free and low cost health care to animals in need.
Spa Treatments
The LakeHouse Spa also offers two pet-inspired spa treatments to revive and rejuvenate our canine guests' human companions. The new Four Paws Massage focuses on human paws - the hands and feet - and the Bow Wow Peticure is a relaxing pedicure that is sure to soothe aching "paws". Both treatments are 50 minutes. During the Celebrating Paws program, a portion of the proceeds from both services will also benefit Animal Trustees of Austin.
